Halloween

Postby GreenWing » Tue Oct 09, 2012 2:58 pm

Is anyone planning on dressing up as a pirate this year for Halloween, with real parrot on shoulder? ;)

As a parrot owner, it seems like such a cute idea (as long as the parrot is safe, not cold, etc.).

Been there, done that. Now what I'd really like to do is dress the parrot up as the pirate and myself as the parrot... now THAT would be a masquerade. :pirate:

I agree it sure would :] If I had a large parrot I'd consider it.

If Ollie was harness trained and it wasn't so damn cold in this country......

...Seriously though I don't really celebrate halloween so I wouldn't anyway. That and I'm too skint to get a pirate outfit lol.

Don't let that stop you! I too would never purchase an outfit but I would assemble it from thrift stores and such :] they look better than those $60 ones when hand selected. Don't you have costume parties though? It seems like people love costume parties here in the states, even when not Halloween.

Oh they do here too don't get me wrong, but I'm so short on money to live on (I do have savings but they are strictly to ensure my pets welfare, vets bills or care if I die before them) that I'm too tight to even spend a tiny amount on stuff to make an outfit myself.

Check your old clothes and "junk" drawer. Do you have any old bandanas around? Tight black pants? Red sash? That's most of your costume right there. If you have a striped top, wear that, too.

Check out this link here for more ideas. :)

If you lived in my neck of the woods I'd help you out with my sewing machine to create the eye patch, and skull and bones hat :)
