if two different species of birds can mate than thats ok its like when different races of humans have a kid it has features from both sides of the parent but doesnt make it wrong

I don't think it is wrong per see, I just don't think it is right to use 2 birds to produce hybrids when so many wild bird species are slowly declining in number. Obviously not all species are endangered as yet but it won't be long... Tbh, I'm almost completely against breeding birds for the pet trade now full stop whether it be hybrid or an established species but that a whole other debate.

i think it would be better if people adopted there parrots rather than buying from a breeder but if one day a species did come close to extinction than the breeders will still have those birds for repopulation.

here in australia there are people who have culled large groups of cockatoos because of the noise even though the school next to it and all the cars around are much noisier then them.there is a video on youtube of people culling the long billed corellas which is sad

In terms of wild birds producing hybrids amongst themselves----I don't have an issue, nature is nature and wild animals will do as they please.

But (especially considering I am against parrot breeding in captivity as it is) I do not condone or support breeding hybrids in captivity as often people breed them because they 'look neat' or 'are pretty' and the last thing parrots need is one more reason to be looked at as pretty talking ornaments for people's amusement.

Amen.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.
