I selected #1 because there was no other option, however, I doubt that my parrots would taste like a chicken, cornish hen, turkey or duck. Neither chicken, turkey or duck taste alike, so how in the world could a rather small bird like most parrots taste like poultry when poultry have been raised to maximize the production of meat and fat for human consumption?

I love my parrots and I think that parrots make great human companions, but I don't believe that I'm committing some sort of inhumane act by consuming poultry.

while i would not eat parrot, dog, hamster, cat, or any other type of "pet" like that, the diet that i am on would be pretty hard to follow if i didn't eat meat. avions included. they don't call it the "cave man" diet for nothing!

plus, my mom cooks sooooo many chickens... :?
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

A admire you guys... I wouldn't be able to survive without my morning coffee (with milk :>) and/or an energy drink
Also I just love dairy products so right now I'm all for Ducan's diet (consulted with my doctor) - so I can share my chicken with my Chicken :D

Yup. I eat 'em all. Even foie gras. But I do not feed chicken or poultry to my bird. He wouldn't eat it, anyway. I grew up in the country an there is a clear distinction between animals that are raised for FOOD and animals that are kept as PETS. My parrotlet wouldn't be food enough for anyone but he is sweet and entertaining so he's my PET :) and i feel no guilt about eating a bird that has been raised for FOOD. Just sayin'. And no disrespect to those who choose not to eat meat.

The only bird i dont eat is duck. im aware it makes no logical sense but i just cant bring myself to do it. I eat chicken, i have a pet chicken, i'll eat rabbit, ive had pet rabbits, but i just cant eat duck... all i can think of is their little duckie faces running towards you wanting their treats (mine used to love lettus and being sprayed with the hose)

Pru, think about all the girls taking pics of them with duck faces - feel less sorry for the ducks now? :D

Yup! I have a lot of food sensitivities and if I don't eat paleo I get horribly sick. Not to mention the weight gain....yuck ten pounds a week.

I just realized Jacko's paleo too lol didn't realize it----but fruit, herbs, seeds, grasses, clay, bugs...yup she's paleo.
