I have a lot of friends in in London and most of them have a bird and the landlords don't mind.

I simply think that the people from London can't have birds is a rumor so I recommend that you shouldn't trust it.

In about 6 months or so. We want to see how the next few months pans out before we make any decisions but there's a very likely chance we will be moving to a larger house instead of the larger apartment we have at the moment. We are thinking of a GCC or a smaller conure now we will have the room for a larger and separate cage.

The house size we moving to could accomodate 4 birds but I think 3 would be enough to guarantee adequate care time. I've wanted a GCC forever but Edmund just chose us and I'm so glad we have him. The next priority was then to Edmund to have a parent raised buddy :-D Now we have George, who is just the cutest little thing and we are moving to a bigger house at some point I can think about it again as a consideration. Not going to rush into it as there's a lot of research I need to do and make preparations which will probably take 6-12 months to firm up if its even possible but I would really like to have a little GCC, its kind of my dream bird. Eventually I'd like to have a Triton cockatoo but I need wayyyyyy more experience for that and a much much bigger place so that's pie in the sky at the moment.

Great plans. I hope they will all come true. My advice is to take every plan one by one.

congratulaltions :) and thanks everybody for your answers!!

just a small update:
I've moved in London (north east, not too far from stratford) and brought my cockatiel here from italy by car.. was a long journey but we did it!

As you said, I had no particular problems with the landlord / agencies while in some cases they questioned about him being noisy (but he is not, kids upstairs are way more noisy :D)

Anyway.. as mentioned my bird has been unwell in the past due to breathing problems (respiratory infection / cold / sneezing) and he has been treated with antibiotics and his nose holes has been cleaned by the vet.

So now I'm looking for a vet around this area and I found out one called "Lawton and Stoakes" in Romford. Do you have any experience with this one or could suggest a good bird specialist in the north east area of London?

Thanks :)

bye,
John.

p.s.
In these days my bird was shaking a little bit and while he is eating (and "pooing") regularly he seems a bit tired and probably still stressed by the travel. Also today feces where more liquid than usual.
