Okay, so, the bad news is I still have no idea what is causing the sneezing but the good news is that all the labs were normal. The aspergillus test was negative, the psittacosis test was negative, and the CBC was normal. The culture grew normal Gram-positive flora.

The vet said it could be allergies but it could be something else that didn't turn up so she prescribed Baytril. However since all the labs were normal I am kind of on the fence about whether I want to give it to him or not.

Hi, I read all the comments about your conjure sneezing. It just so happens
That my conure is starting to sneeze now, too.Cali was boarded at
Her vet last weekend.
She started sneezing several times a day.
I going it strange that she took a bath in her water
twice two days in a row. I should mention that she
Had other parrot friends at the vet but I always board he in her
Own cage. I should mention that she is 19 and is a chronic
Egg later for at least 12 years. I'm worried about her because of her age.
She is overdue for a vet visit because of my health issues. We plan to take her
Very soon to the vet if she doesn't stop sneezing. Not sure if I
Mentioned that she started sneezing several times in a
Row just two days ago. Today, I noticed light red bares.
There is no discharge. We live in a very dry climate. I do have am
Air filter, clean he cage and dishes regularly. What some one
Said about placing their bird in the shower seems like
One thing I can do to see if it is just a dry nose. Nothing
Had really changed with her except for the sneezing. Any comments
Welcomed.

Most of the parrots that we keep in our homes come from a humid area of the world and dry air dries out their nares so may I suggest trying out a humidifier for them if taking them into the shower helps them at all.

Yes, parrots do not belong in a dry climate and, if you live in one, you need to compensate for it so get yourself a humidifier for a room larger than the one she is in an run it all day long. Also, feed her lots of beta-carotene rich food (sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, dark leafy greens, etc) BUT if she doesn't stop, take her to the vet because, chances are, she caught something when she was boarded there (not to rub it in but it's never a good idea to board a bird at a vet where she will be exposed to sick ones -almost all their diseases are passed on in air).

Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put her on a STRICT solar schedule (with full exposure to dawn and dusk) and reduce her protein intake to make her endocrine system go back in tune with the seasons and stop her chronic laying or she will die before her time.

The exact same thing is going on with my blue front sonny . Sneezing quite a bit. No discharge or any other symtoms. . No rednes at the nare but has been scratching it too. I have been told to try a humidifier . I am going to try that today. My baby is only 5 -6 months old. Is your room dry ? I will keep you posted on trying to pinpoint the problem. It may be back to vet soon.
Please let me know any progress. . Thanks.
