ID ring placement?

I could prove atm with the bald bits under Ollies wings and picked chest but I'm hoping those 2 features aren't permenant.
I would absolutely microchip a larger parrot though but i feel with even the mini microchips that mine are too small for it to be worth it, particuarly as vets and shelters dont always scan dogs let alone birds.

Well, bf & I were going to put the ring on Alfie last night but turned out we didn't have the right size pliers. In the process though we both felt that the edges of the band are a bit sharp and could cause irritation. Don't know what to do now. The avian vet charges £80 to microchip which I'm going to pass on for now, what with recent £265 vet fees plus vast sums on kitting out cage, pet carrier, toys, multiple kinds of pellets etc etc! :roll: I don't feel easy about no form of identification though.....
