Cockatoo wont eat fruit or veggies!!! HELP!!!

Hi everyone!
I've been trying and trying to get my to eat vegetables and fruits, I've chopped, I've diced, I've grated, served whole and he is just no interested at all. He touches it curiously, then ignores it no matter how hungry he is. So far I have tried, apples, grapes, carrots and whole lot of leafy green vegetables. No luck. I don't want to only ffed himseeds because 1) obviously its not healthy and 2) easily develop fatty tumors so only seeds would be terrible for him. How did y'all get your birds to eat foods other than seeds???

have you tried eating them with your ? my doesn't care for fruits and vegtables either unless they are steamed, mixed into chop, or hot oatmeal.

As soon as we started them on pellets they started eating fruits because it was dry foodsall the time and then hjuiciness of the fruit was irresistible.

Eat them in front of him, hang them up like toys, mash them up, cook them via various methods and everything your already doing.
Just dont ever give up, you will get there.

Took me 6 yeas to get Harlie to even try the stuff.

Same thing happened to me with Elvis, my U2. Take some frozen fruit, my boy luves blueberries. Warm them up in the microwave & leave a bit of the flavored water. Elvis will NOT eat any food cold,. Everything has to be on the warm side, veggies, fruits, you name it. Good luck! & DO NOT GIVE UP...oh and I also had to eat with him for the first 2-3 weeks. It was a chore, but well worth it once he got to eating on his own.

You can try "bird cornbread" which is made with fruit, baby food veggies, and mixed vegetables pieces. Even if he picks out the mixed vegetables the "bread" part still has fruits and vegetables and generally birds like cornbread.

Elvis will NOT eat any food cold,. Everything has to be on the warm side, veggies, fruits, you name it.

Yes, some birds are really picky about temperature. My GCC will eat anything, cold or warm, but my Poi outright REFUSES to eat something if it's cold! Even if it's something he likes it must be either room temperature or warm or else he doesn't want it.

No I haven't yet but I will, I think that will work because I was eating pasta the other day and he really wanted some from me

I think my like hot food because when the pasta went cold he didn't want to eat it unless I heated it up

It is true that birds have strong preferences with regard temperature, texture etc of their food. My sennie likes warm, sloppy food. Check this recipe out....he loves this and wolfs down some every day. I freeze it in some amounts and (obviously defrost) and warm it up before I give it to him.
