Skinny Golden (QOB'S) Conure

I posted a while ago about my thin QOB conure, NaNa. I took him to an avian vet and he had a very high white blood cell count, and cultured positively for E. coli and a Staph infection!! I have no idea how he got this, or how long he has had it. I keep his cage meticulously clean and wash my hands all the time. We do not share "French" kisses.

After 10 days on Ciprofloxicin we had more blood work and cultures done and waiting for results. He is moulting heavily, and new feathers are brighter looking. I am hoping he is past this. I'll keep everyone posted.

P.S you have a very pretty conure. I haven't heard of many goldies in captivity.

He could have gotten them from produce not thoroughly washed. It's always recommended to wash everything with soap and water (I even soak the organic leafy greens in soapy water for about 15 minutes before I rinse them out).
