re-growing feathers & molting time..

Postby feathermum » Tue May 21, 2013 4:02 pm

hey all, i thought i would share this & see if anyone else usees this idea. back in jan. of this year, a very sweet but extreamly timid Jenday was droped off @ my work. the woman couldn't care for her anymore, we were told she was around a yr old...& she had only downy feathers on her back, breast, legs & most of her wings. the woman said since she couldn't really take care of her, she bought another conure & put her in the cage w/ the jenday. thery were left like this for 8mos.the other conure had plucked herself as well. to get to my point, I fell in love w/ aroura (jenday) & decided that i would take her home & give her a wicked good diet as i'm pretty sure she was only given cockateil seed. and some featherific.has anyone else ever used it? it's a powder u spinkle on their food to help grow feathers back or to help w/ a bad molt. it worked alright, & wasn't that expencive, so i kept useing it. however, soon after i got a baby jenday that i was handraising @ home, useing Goldenfeast formula. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! Aroura kept trying to lick the bowl, so i just gave her some everyday & it has worked wonders!!! i also use it for my nanday b/c he is going through his 1st "big" molt...& now seems to help a bit. Aroura is looking better & better evry day. only handfeeding formula i will use from now on..anyone else use this? if u don't i would look into it, it really is amazing :D
