set mealtimes?

I was just reason random posts through the site and one mentioned feeding parrots at see mealtimes vs leaving say there pellets out free choice. Any clarifications?

I only free-feed raw produce. I don't feed pellets - the cooked grain and veggie dish they get for breakfast and the seed mix they get for dinner is given out in portions.
