Hi guys. Daisy is doing fine but unfortunately, my parents want to wait on taking her to the vet. I hadn't replied in this thread for fear of the responses I'd get for not taking her, but I felt bad about keeping you all in the dark. So far sh'es no longer bed-ridden all day and is wandering around, is able to walk properly and flatten her feet out by herself, able to perch, has control of her beak back, is eating solid foods by herself(before, we were feeding her mashed fruits and beans) and is no longer only able to walk in circles. From her symptoms, it seemed very likely that she had a concussion. One thing I am very worried about is her vision though. I can't be sure, but I think her right eye's vision is either worsened or gone all together...

Yes, it sounds like neurological damage - could have been trauma, could have been a stroke or some other type of vascular problem. The vet wouldn't have been able to do much unless it was determined it was a yolk-stroke so I still don't agree with your parents' decision of not taking her to the vet.

Keep her quiet, calm and warm and she might recuperate completely... she might also have an impairment for the rest of her life (I have one that has a 'curled up' foot which she cannot use).

I wanted to thank everyone who cared and worried about her with me.

Daisy is dead... We found out this morning when we unwrapped her blanket she was sleeping in.
She was wrapped up with her sock tunnel she always slept in and buried in our backyard.

After her injury, she would occasionally seemingly lose balance and control of her wings and neck while making peeping noises. When this happened, the only way to stop it was for me to hold her still in my hands for a few seconds until she returned back to normal. Yesterday, the day when things looked like they were gonna be okay, she'd been able to be more vocal. I'm not completely sure, but perhaps when she was making noises in her blanket last night, she was going into another one of her "moments" and I'd simply waved it off as her making more noise, in which case this is my fault for being so ignorant. I feel regretful for not being as good a friend to her as I could have in her short life. I can only hope she's resting in peace now.

R.I.P. Daisy

Oh no! That's so, so sad :( R.I.P Daisy. <3

I believe you were the bestest of friends to her, though. She had an amazing life and you always just wanted the best for her, and this was so not your fault.

Back when I still had my lovebird, I noticed him acting different, and when I asked my parents to take him to the vet, they also said "not yet" - and a day or so after that he passed away, too.
Only good thing to come out of that was the fact that my parents now trust my judgement with these things, I hope your parents do the same. :(

Oh I'm so sorry! You know, you gave it a good try and you cared for her deeply. Maybe it was like Pajarita said and the vet would not have been able to help. She was such a sweetheart. I'm so sorry you lost her. :(
