Possible wing injury

Good day everyone

So, this morning Lilly, my Senegal parrot got frighted in her cage. And started flapping around. I'm not even exactly sure what scared her, but suspect it might have be me coming into the room too suddenly.

Afterwards I noticed her 'playing' with her wings the whole time. Like stretching them and so on. Should I be concerned about this? It is not like she is not using them at all. I can just pick up that she might have hurt them. (I think it is only the right wing) Any possibility that it might be broken? Or should I rather just take her to the vet for in case?

I think being certain is the best option and would take the vet trip. If there is damage then they may be able to do something to make sure it heals correctly if its a larger bone.

If she is just 'fiddling' with it but the wing is sitting at a normal angle (not drooping) and she can still fly without a problem, it's most likely that there is some feather problem there and she is trying to correct it (it could be that a couple of feathers broke or that they got crooked when she flapped in panic). If you see that wing lower than the other when in rest (look at her from the front and the back and put your eyes at her chest level), if she is holding it separate from her body (kind of like leaving a crack of empty space between the wing and the side of the body), if there is any blood, or if you notice any weakness whatsoever in her flight (like not been able to maintain flight parallel to the floor but going on a downward curve instead), take her to a vet immediately. But what concerns me is that she was bumping her wings on the sides of the cage (meaning the cage must be too small for her or it has too many things in it) and that she panicked simply because you entered the room suddenly which a normal bird (meaning healthy, not stressed out or high-strung) would never do.

Firstly, maybe I should just mention, we just moved so she might a bit stressed due to that. Not knowing her surroundings and so forth. Further more, the reason she bumped into the cage was because she was eating at the bottom part of the cage when it happened. So she kind of got stuck between her food bowl on top of her, the cage on the front and the perch she was sitting on.

This is the second time ever she got frighted to the extent that she started flapping in her cage. The first being during night time. Randomly for no reason what so ever.

Her wing seems to be fine now, and I haven't noticed her fiddling with it for some time now. So maybe it was just a feather. Also, I am currently trying to get her to learn to fly. She was clipped as baby before I got her. So she is not very good yet and almost always just fly with a angle down to the ground.

My female sennie was clipped for a long time before she came to me (she used to attack her owner's wife so they clipped her which, of course, did not help at all) so her muscles were also very weak on top of half her primaries been still clipped but she now has her full wings and can fly like a champion so don't lose hope and keep on making her practice. Sennies love to fly (not like amazons which are all perch potatoes) and would often do it just for the fun of it - Zoey often flies from my shoulder while I am at the computer in the kitchen, goes across the dining room, then the living room, makes a turn and flies up the stairs just to make a U turn and come back to me... I guess she gets tired of me sitting here and takes a little flight to entertain herself -LOL
