It's best to save the protein food (seed or pellets) for dinner so they fill full longer (winter nights are very long and if you feed veggies, they will be hungry for hours and hours). I don't feed eggs (too much protein and cholesterol) and I don't feed eggshells because my birds get calcium the natural way (through food). I feed gloop (dish of cooked whole grains, beans and veggies) in the morning along with raw produce (one fruit, one veggie, one leafy green -different ones every day of the week) and a lower protein than recommended seed mix in a small, measured portion (for example, my cockatiels don't get cockatiel mix but budgie mix and my larger parrots don't get a parrot mix but a cockatiel one with some toasted human-grade nuts added according to the species and size).
