I have Yellow Sided conure. I have her for about 8 weeks now. She was born mid April 2013. Her wings are not clipped. We always let her fly freely around the house. We let her fly freely around the house and perch anywhere she likes because she is a picky of where she poops. She potty trained herself. We never find her poops on the curtains and wooden blinds where she spends most of her day playing. We never find her poops on top of the refrigerator where we keep her food and water. Oddest of all, she doesn't poop in her cage where she only goes in at night to sleep.
And she never poop on people.

When she is play with me or perching on my shoulder, I have to remember to take her down on a hard surface for her to poop every 5 to 10 minutes. If I don't, she will continue to play or roost on my shoulder for hours without pooping. She restrains from pooping on places where she plays, eat, and sleep. This can't be normal! In the morning she flies into the bathroom and perch on my towel. She won't poop until someone come in, let her perch on the finger and hold her over the toilet. What worries me is she restrains from pooping from 7:30pm to 7:30am. My wife and I have to take turn, wake up early, to let her poop everyday. We don't want her to get sick from going too long without pooping. If we lock her in her cage, she won't poop there. She will scream for us to let her out to poop.
There are only a few places she likes to poop: top of the ceiling fan blades, newspaper beside her cage, dinning room table, and my wife dresser.
How can I train her to poop in her cage?
