bird formulas?

I think I may have posted this in the wrong section previously, I apologize. I'm new to the site and still learning my way around. Anyways I am purchasing a baby bird this weekend that is still being hand fed. Hand feeding is nothing new to me, I have parented many cockatiels but honestly have never hand fed one that wasn't hatched by my own birds. So my question is, is it safe to switch formulas or should I stick with what the breeder is currently using? The baby cockatiel will be 7 weeks old. Thanks for any advice! I had trouble finding any info about this online.
