Great recipes and food info

Postby GreenWing » Thu Nov 21, 2013 2:57 pm

I've had the honor of meeting the "Birdman" Chris, who is behind NW Bird Rescue. He's an amazing human being who dedicates his life to saving parrots; if only more people were like him in the world. Anyway, he has a great page that lists some healthy recipes and foods for parrots, INCLUDING (as Pajarita correctly warns in many of her awesome posts) info on protein, which needs to be LIMITED.

Anyway, I'd BBCode it but meh here's the pasted link, lol

I'd LOVE to make the "Birdie Party Mix" for Chance for Christmas festivities

Awesome site!

What I like best about these recipes is that they're impossible to screw up. Our feathered friends will pick through what they like and forget the rest. The recipes are more of a starting point that'll become more & more tailored to one's bird

I couldn't find the nutritional values on those pellets, do you know how to get them?

I have a very strong suspicion that those pellets are actually TOPS but has been re-labelled- look at the ingredients and the pictures of the two pellets plus the package design. That would by typical of birdtricks from what I've heard about them to take another product and pass it off as their own

**EDIT**
Sorry I've only just picked up on this - the website says "Birdtricks did not invent this recipe, nor do they manufacture the pellets. In their search to find the very best pellet for their own birds, they came across this product, which is as good as it gets. They offer it to you through their own private label called Feed Your Flock." At least their being honest for once.
