It's all true. I've never fed it to my birds, they get sweet potatoes, carrots, dark leafy greens and tomatoes for betacarotene and flax seed in their gloop for the Omega 3s.

Also, don't ever buy palm oil UNLESS it is RSPO (Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil) certified. The environmental homes -- rainforests -- of these beautiful feathered beasts we love are being destroyed FOR palm plantations.

Personally, coconut oil is da bomb, and it's healthy for you and your parrot to eat. Get it organic -- it's really not that expensive and I buy it organic in bulk. Dr. Oz had a talk on how healthy coconut oil is, you can probably find it on youtube.

It makes sense to me . . . but then just because it makes sense doesn't not mean it is correct.

Nope, I don't feed coconut oil to my birds. It's 90% saturated fat!
