rescueing parrot what to feed

if all goes to plan i will be bring home a maroon bellied conure tonight. the owner can no longer look after it. and i am unsure what to feed it. because i not been given much back ground info of the birds current basic diet.

so what should i do

what base mix do you guy recommend.
what vegetables etc is he most likely to like?

any advice is much appreciated.

I would think that the current owner would give you some food when you pick up the bird. If not you can ask them what they are feeding the bird. Feed the bird the type of food it is accustomed to for a few days until it adjusts to its new environment and then start the process of changing it over to a healthy diet if it is not already getting such a diet.

Exactly what Wolf said. The most important thing is for the bird to suffer as little as possible during the move and for the transition to be as painless and stress free as possible and that means same diet, same schedule, same routines, same toys, same cage, same everything until he feels comfortable in his new home.
