Length of molting period?

My pionus had her first molt in February '13 which lasted for 3 months.
She then started molting again in September and to this day has yet to grow new feathers. Is it normal for a molting period to last 3 or 4 months?

No, of course it's not normal, a bird that molted for so long would be dead in the wild and new feathers are always supposed to grow back after the old ones fall. Normal molts last about 8 weeks and they always happen when the breeding season ends which means mid to end of summer. Please review your bird's light schedule and diet and, if you see you are doing everything right (bird light schedule versus human light schedule, not free-feeding protein sources and reducing protein during the resting season, good quality full spectrum and UV lights during the day, etc) take it to an avian vet because there is something wrong with your birds's endocrine system.
