how much food should I feed my budgie?

So I was watching Michaels video and it showed that you are only suppose to feed a bird 50 small seeds. Eureka ! So for a budgie how much do I need to feed them?

Heres the link of the video:

I am not really sure, because I don't have a budgie, but what you saw on the video is actually quite deceptive because a large portion on Kili's food is given in the form of treats. Michael feeds pellets for treats and he spends a lot of time training Kili and Truman.
Just didn't want you to think that what you saw was what they really got, it is not.

Thanks wolf! I will just observe how much they eat because I feed them a lot of apples before dinner time for them. (14 Apples, 0.000005 Banana last month) Anyways while your here my budgies wings are trimmed and I have a harness from my other Senegal parrot but I did my research and people are saying that a harness is bad for your budgie, first question is that true? Second question if my budgie's wings are trimmed can I just take him outside like that without a harness? because I took him out of his cage and he tried to fly but he flies 2 inches up then falls.

Thanks

I have never heard anything about a harness being bad for your budgie, just make sure to get a good quality one, such as the aviator, and get the right size.
I do not recommend that you clip any birds wings as it is not good for them. I also do not recommend free flight as you mat loose your friend that way. Even if you clip your birds wings, it really doesn't take much of a wind to carry a bird a long way. Many people have lost their birds due to taking it outside without a harness or being in a cage.
Michael lost his bird, Truman, Monday morning. He was really lucky and found him this afternoon.

Harnesses don't work with budgies because they are too small and too flighty, they would get scared very easily outdoor and take off jerking the lead (or pulling it altogether from the owner's hand) and most likely hurting themselves. Besides, it's not a good idea to take a budgie outdoors...

As to food, budgies metabolisms are very high and they eat, in proportion, more than the larger species. This, added to the fact that they are partial ground foragers allows owners to free-feed them whole grains and produce without a negative consequence. But don't free-feed them pellets or seeds, those should be a measured portion with the pellets not been more than 15% of their diet (they are too hard on their kidneys) so, even if I did like pellets, which I don't, personally, I see no advantage feeding them to budgies.

This is good advice if you desire your bird to die before its time due to liver failure. If this is not what you want for your bird then I recommend that you don't follow this advice.
