I don't know. Usually, the bile acids test is done separately from the one that has the AST values (which is the avian chemistry panel) and it's charged separately, too (I pay $80 for it nowadays but it used to be much more expensive). The chem panel has values for AST, CK, PT, Cholesterol, glucose, calcium (pretty useless, actually), phosphorus and UA.

Call the vet's office, they should have a copy and can tell you what each of these are.

I know I need the results. I never thought about it when they were done. Now I want to see everything that's been done .Everything he did made since to me and the 2nd vet agreed that all the right tests where done and came back ok.
I know something is wrong with my bird

Does anyone know what to do if my conjure has a stomach ache. For a week now he has gone from quite to screeching for no reason I can see. He goes on and one before he stops. When I eat something he screeches the whole time I'm eating. Usually he stops after I get up 3-4 times and give him something else. He usually gets into something and stops.
Today I gave him some apple first and he was happy, this was before I sat down to eat.then I got some cucumber, He usually likes he did now want any, then some BROCCOLI he screamed the whole time and would not stop for 20 min.

I know birds are funny to read, I have done every thing I can think of to make him happy. Closed all the blinds, windows, put water up to his mouth put a sheet over half the cage, talked to him. I asked a friend to come over and maybe distract him. He does the baby motion like he wants to be feed, and seems very anxious. This is why I am thinking he has a stomach ache.
I'm thinking he is doing this after he eats something.

Could this all be behavioral bird stuff? What will help. Thanks.

He needs to go to the vets for a diagnosis, it sounds to me like he is in pain. There is definitely something wrong with the bird and as far as I can tell it has yet to be diagnosed and he needs good medical care. I would get him to the avian vet as soon as possible. I, for one am very concerned about this birds health.

Yes, same here... very worried. Weren't you going to take him back to the vet or am I mistaken? He needs to get a diagnosis and treatment because hoping he gets better on his own is not realistic, my dear, and, although we would love to, there is nothing we can do to help him long distance. Please get copies of the results and see if you can post them here or send them to me on a pm. I would like to see what was done and what the results were. Mind you, I am not a vet but I've read so many tests results that I've learned a bit about them. Have you been keeping track of his weight? Is it possible that he is not eating enough or, maybe eating but not absorbing the nutrients? I don't think they get stomach aches like we do (they have three different organs to our one single stomach) but they do feel pain. Now, I don't know whether the behavior you describe is due to pain or not (I would have to be there and know the bird normal behaviors before I could 'read' anything properly) but there is something going on and that's for sure.

Thank you, I agree. I called the vet at the beginning of the week and left a message asking the Dr what the next step will be for Pokey. I asked him to review whats been done and call the lab,or whoever he could ask. He did say before that would call someone after he did the prob. That has not been done. I asked to talk to the vet, never heard back. I called Thursday and found out they close at noon on Thursday. I called Friday afternoon and left a message again for the vet to call me. it was earlier in the day and the Dr should have been there. Never heard from him.

I may call again today and leave a message so they will get it first thing Monday morning.
It does make me mad the way the office is so unflexable. When he was a baby he was his vet and I dont remember them being so uptight. They schedule so many people close together now and theirs no room for being late. I am hoping they can take care of my bird without an attitude. I will ask for an appoint for Monday or Tuesday.

Yes a part of me is hoping he will get better every day. It's very frustrating dealing with jerks at his vet and not knowing where they are coming from. The Vet is good so I'm taking him there. It's hard to go threw no one knowing whats wrong, and going back and forth to the vet.
It would be nice to take him to his vet and if I stell need to go to the specelest go from there. Probably won't happen like that. The Vet doesn't seem to think about that.

I well do anything to help my bird. I did check his weight every week a while back and no changes. He got to where he would not stand on the perch that I used to weigh him on. He fought me so much I haven't tryed again. I will try again today.
I really don't know whats going on with his screaming, He looks at me when he is screaming to see if I am engaged. That's a normal behavior. He was quite most of last night. Right now I have him in his cage with half of it covered. He is sleeping more, like when a kid gets tired and cranky.
He is only 7 years old. I want to get him well. I will pay what ever I have to for the vet and tests Hopefully it wont be outrageous. I don't have the proper food for him you all suggested I dont have any grocery money right now. I did buy some apples, spinach, cucumber, brockeily.
I bought asparagus but I am not feeding him any. I hear its bad for him.
That doesn't sound that bad does it?

We really need the information from your visits to the vet but while we are waiting for this information here is a link to a listing of things that are good and bad for your birds. The list begins on the second page and foods are only a part of the listings.

This may help you with finding food that he can eat, but you need to put him on the diet that Pajarita recommended if you want him to be healthier. It is as important to his health as is the proper medical attention.

Does anyone know of a perch that is made to sit atop a digital flat top kitchen type scale, to weigh your parrot? The one I have is the pocket, fold out legs, and it is slippery, and Bean does not like it, and I have trouble getting him on the scale. I saw a suction cup perch, made for the scale, but you had to buy the scale also (amazon). I was curious if anyone saw something similar in there travels. I really need to weigh Bean. One week late getting weight yesterday.

I did not see a perch that you could buy separately from the scale but if you look at this perch and scale combination, I am certain that you could build the perch wit a small piece of 1/ 8" or 1/4" plywood and 3 small branches or dowels and a few screws.

Any perch would do. All you have to do is use the weight of it as tare when you set it up but, even if the scale doesn't have that particular feature, just write the exact weight down and simply deduct it from the weight it shows when he is on it.

Now, I don't know what constitutes a 'good' vet to you but I've been dealing with both dog and cat as well as avian vets for many, many years and VERY often (I not only have lots of birds, I also have multiple dogs and cats and, as I always adopt the ones that are old or have issues, I end up using them A LOT) and, to me, is not only that he/she is a good diagnostician, that he does not ask for unnecessary tests or procedures, that he is kind and caring to my animals but also that they take the time to talk AND listen to me and, it seems to me that this vet does neither. Personally, I would not go back to a vet for whom I leave several messages and he doesn't get back when he must know I am worried about an undiagnosed condition that has been going on for so long. But you can get a copy of his blood work results from the receptionist or office manager. You paid for them, they are yours. They should even be able to send them as an attachment to an email.

But you need to change the diet and you need to start him on the liver cleansers and tonics I told you about because no amount of testing will do any difference if he is not eating right.
