Quaker afraid of millet?

I heard parrots love millet, so I picked some up today. But all mine does is jab at it with his beak like he is afraid of it. He'll eat the seeds after I crush them up in my hand, but they're so small it ends up falling everywhere and getting wasted. Any suggestions?

Just hang a sprig of the millet in your birds cage where he can reach it from a perch and leave it. He will figure it out as he appears to know what it is ,but doesn't recognize this form of it.

Are we talking about a baby, a juvenile or an adult bird?
