Update on my hahns crusty face

Postby MrDarcy » Thu Jun 12, 2014 9:13 pm

Well I took Mr Darcy to the vet today. Healthy as can be. Great muscularity beautiful bird who happens to be picking himself a bit more aggressivly. Which kind of makes sense because we went on a trip for a week and our 20yr old son was in charge and I think the bird was a bit lonely for my husband $70 to find out he is fine. And I have piece of mind

Thanks for all the concern!! :macaw3:

Thank you for the update! I am so happy that all is well and that this turned out to be a minor thing. Peace of mind is a great place to be and can't be replaced by anything.

Glad to hear everything is OK. What did the vet said was the crusty thing on his face? I am not questioning his saying it was fine, I just want to find out for future reference.

The vet did a thorough check and he located a few spots of trauma. It was just like us getting a scrape and the scab formed. My husband and I went away for a week and my son was in charge and he never caged them. So I think there may have been a few spats while we were away or the bird did it to himself because he missed us. Either way the vet suggested soothe spray for his feathers. And lots of baths. He already has a bath every second day.

There was no evidence of blood anywhere so that's good.

On a side note he is quite affectionate since the vet visit!
