They may have learned a few things from me, but I have learned a few things from them. And one is were Amos wants his bowls. Once I feed them in the morning I would sit in my chair across the room and watch them to see what they do. If they like what I made or if I need to try something else. One thing I notice was that Amos(Jenday Conure) would grab a piece of food and go up about half way and eat it. He did this every time. So I move the bowls up to the half way point were he would stop and eat and that made him happy. He now can sit and eat without having to move. I would have to say sitting and just watching them you can really learn a few things. As for Andy if I try him on a new food I have to give some to Amos first and if he likes it Andy will try it. LOL I tried them on some baby food. I put some on a spoon and Amos pulled back a bit from the spoon, so I put my finger in the baby food on the spoon and let Amos watch me do it then I put my finger up to the cage so he could lick it off my finger a few times, and he like the sweet potato, but as for the berry fruit mix he just shook his head and would not touch it again. So then after a few more times putting my finger in the spoon of food I slowly lifted up the spoon to him and he ate it off the spoon. So after that the next day I went out and bought a few sweet potato's and made one up for him. I cooked it and then I just gave him the inside of it. and mashed it up for him and he loved it. I am making a list who likes what, so I know how to make up their dishes.
sorry post is so long but I am really having fun with these guys.
