Hi I wanted to add more stuff to my birds diet I just wanted to know what beans to feed my pinaplle conure and if u cook them or if u serve them raw. Can you please just list the good and Safe beans for him, thank you so much
There is a good list of things that are safe for your bird as well as things that are bad for it in the following link viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12521 This is the best list that I have found to date and it is loaded with good information. The list starts on the second page of posts. Beans, as long as they are fully cooked are fine for your bird to eat. Never feed him raw or undercooked beans.
The safest beans to feed are the small white beans because they are the lowest in a toxic lectin all beans have (it's commonly called red kidney bean lectin but this is only because these beans are the highest in it, in reality, all beans have it).
HarperMaker; I have just purchased beans and all mine were small white beans and they are being cooked in crock pot over night.=I purchased pinto, beans, small white beans and black small beans[not sure about them yet.] But link above post gave you is a good one.river-7
