I am so sorry to learn of this unfortunate death in your family.

I also want to apologize for the questions that I am about to ask , but I recently saw a chart showing that the food and water that we are giving our birds may be the cause of deaths such as this. So please tell me what you are feeding your birds and if you are giving bottled or local tap water and if it is city water ,what city or town supplies the water.
I know that this will not fix this or ease your grief, but I am trying to find o my information might be true or not and if so why. If it is true then sometime in the future perhaps it will help to prevent this.
Again, I am so sorry to hear of this loss.

Diet Consist Of fruit and vegetable like corn, greenchilli, apple, peach, cucumber, carrot, orange, guava, piece of bread sometimes boil chickpeas or potato i dont give her seeds beacause she only choose sunflower seed and leave the remaining seeds and i give her tap water which comes from local fresh water supply i live in lahore, pakistan its summer here and i cover the cage with cotton blanket in the night to get her sleep properly sometime in night she chew the cloth is that harmful? and i burried her today i check her body there is no sign of blood stool is normal no sign of vomitting no sign of fluid or anything near nostrills she was eating good before some times and playing just in a minute before death she screems 2 or three times like cheeeen, cheeeen and within a minute i check she laid in the cage and body was warm no sign of breathing what happened is sudden thats why i m so worried if a parrot is ill u know and do your best to protect but she did not give me a chance :irn:

Well, I don't really know what caused her death but, given the description and the diet, it's possible it was a heart attack. You are not feeding enough protein, my dear. Too much protein is bad for their livers and kidneys but too little to no protein means no muscle and the heart is a muscle...

The simplest way to add some protein to your birds diet is to give them some seed mix in the evening for dinner while continuing to feed the things that you do for breakfast and for nibbling on through the day.

My first cockatiel was a female named Amy that my sister got tired of. I found a male to keep her company. He would sing and she would dance to his song. One day he was singing then screamed. She died while dancing and was dead at the bottom of the cage.

Charlene choked to dead and died in my hand. There was a tumor in her throught.

Twinkle was lazy and acting weard one day. She was dead the next morning.

I went away for three day and my daughter took care of my critters. When I came home Lemone' was dead on the bottom of the cage.

The most recent loss was Sweetie. One evening she was at the bottom of the cage rocking back and forth like she was going to lay an egg. The next morning she was dead.

No matter how well they can talk, they can't tell us what is going on and they try to hide their illness just like they would in the wild.

Hearing about my lost babies is no help to your grief. I am just letting you know about my losses that I regret and blame myself for even if there was nothing I could do.

Yes, for an IRN or Alexandrine, a quarter cup of a good budgie seed mix (mostly cereal grains like different types of millet, canary seed, some safflower, some oats, some roasted buckwheat, etc) for dinner would be perfect.

I am so sorry for your loss. You say their is nothing harm full near them, you might want to check to see if fumes from something might be going over to the cage, parrots may not smell good but fumes will affect them. Just my thought. :gcc: :jenday:
