I don't use rolled oat (we call it oatmeal, here in the States) because it's too soft and mushy. I get oat groats but, in a pinch, you can use Irish oatmeal (aka steel cut oats). The seed mix is fine but why powdered? I add flax and sesame seeds but they are regular seeds.

Don't worry about her not eating it the first day, they never do. I took in a pair of budgies on Sunday afternoon. Sunday night I took the bowl with seeds out of their cage, Monday morning they got gloop with a few millet seeds mixed in -they did not touch it and waited until the evening when they got seeds for dinner. Tuesday morning they got gloop with a few millet seeds mixed in and, about mid-morning, I saw the hen go down to the bottom of the cage (I always put it spread out on a flat surface at the bottom of the cage) and start eating. Tuesday evening, when I went to give them their dinner and found the little dish with just the chopped green beans left on it, they had eaten all the other stuff. Wednesday morning, they didn't even wait for me to walk away to start eating it.

Here in the States, normally if it is called rolled oats it is being processed as animal feed and is rolled just enough to crack the hull of the oats. I have cooked and eaten plenty of it although it is a bit harsh when swallowed, probably the hull.

Rolled oats is used for porrage/musili here or at least thats what it says on the box of the better quality ones. They probably do something else to it too thought then take it even further for kids. Kids porrage is generally horrible powdery weirdness which reminds me of fish food flakes dusted in flour lol.

As for tescos we have one of the bigger stores near us and the selection is still very limited for grains-if you want pearl barey or beans and lentils its great though
