Awwww, what a cutie! I have a male peachfront, VERY similar to the halfmoon only the tiniest bit larger and with a black beak (his name is Pablo). As to veggies, they are pretty much all safe except for avocado and onions. Some can be given either way, some need to be cooked (potatoes, asparagus, yucca, etc). I always cook sweet potatoes, pumpkins and the round squashes (winter, butternut, spaghetti, hubbard, turban, etc -I have a medium sugar pumpkin cooking in the microwave right now for their breakfast) but they get raw yellow and green zucchini, red radishes, grape tomatoes, green/yellow/orange/red peppers, fennel root, carrots, beets (they eat them cooked, too), celery, cucumbers, endives (not too often, they are expensive and I have a lot of parrots), French/snap beans, sugar snaps and snow peas, etc. Yes, potatoes are OK as long as they are cooked (mine like the little red ones boiled, sliced and with a drizzle of olive oil and some oregano on them). They also love fresh corn on the cob (shuck, boil for 2 minutes, put in cold water and cut in 1 in slices).
Veggies and fruits are healthy for them as well as leafy greens and cruciferous (cabbage family) but I don't give mine any spinach or collard greens and very little cauliflower (too high in oxalates and purines).
