Never looked into them before really but was wondering if this one was any good?

If not what ones would be good/what do I need to look for?

Thanks

It looks like a fairly good one, but I don't like that it doesn't say anything about its ozone output. We breathe a double atom of oxygen and ozone is a molecule consisting of three atoms of oxygen and so it has a charge to it and is not good to breathe. Most air purifiers produce a little, but some produce a lot.

Ah yes of course -ozone. That's exactly why I have never bothered getting one. Is there any that don't produce it?

If you go to the manufacturer's website and click on the California Air Resources Board Logo you get this statement:The Fellowes AeraMax™ Air Purifiers are certified by the California Air Resource Board. To be certified, the Fellowes AeraMax™ Air Purifiers were tested for electrical safety and ozone emissions, and met the ozone emission concentration limit of 0.050 parts per million.

Thanks harpmaker, that's useful.

It looks like honeywell air purifiers may be completely ozone free from what they claim. can anyone confirm?

Neither the Honeywell Enviracare nor the QuietCare produce ozone. I am buying two new ones (because now I will have two dedicated bird rooms instead of one and a makeshift one for the canaries) and I am getting the Quietcare towers.
