She should not be falling nor should she be fluffing up other than momentarily to rearrange her feathers. If she spends much time on the bottom of the cage and being still while there and fluffed up then I would worry that she is sick. as these are all warning signs of illness. Keep her warm as you had to with the first one. Is this one eating and drinking? Is this one being active?
You are fine with your seed mix, the variety of foods are veggies like leaf lettuce, not head lettuce, peas, corn, carrots, squash, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and such items.

I found a good article for you about caring for your Budgie. I thought that you might like to read it, so here is the link to it...

Did you clean the cage after returning the first budgie? It would be possible for the second budgie to acquire the illness the first had if they're living in the same cage, yes?

She was just momentarily fluffing up her feathers. And yes, I cleaned the cage VERY well. She still hasn't eaten, but this morning she started chirping :) She's still on the top perch and looks pretty cold, I'm about to turn on the fireplace and warm her up. Also, thanks for the link, it was very helpful :budgie:

You need to keep the temperature no lower than 65 degrees F., they can stand a lower temperature for short periods of time but for periods of over an hour anything less than 65 is too cold for them.

I doubt she will eat fruits. She can eat veggies but only when they are cooked and in small pieces (like baby peas, corn, diced carrots, sweet potatoes but they don't need to be cut small, they eat them very well if you cook them soft). What they do eat and love are greens so, if you give her a different one almost every day (you can't feed her just lettuce and, when you do, it cannot be iceberg), add a bit of vitamins to her water once a week and always keep a cuttlebone in her cage, she should do OK. Oh, and no spinach! But, my dear, budgies suffer when they are by themselves so you should consider getting her a friend.
