Corn on the cob? Apples? (my jardine calls all fruit 'apple' and starts asking 'You wannapple?' when she sees them  ) They all like apples and corn on the cob (but although they would eat corn no matter how it's prepared, they prefer the fresh one brought to a boil and simmered for 2 minutes so it's still quite crispy and juicy).

I was thinking of mashing some banana and stirring some small pieces of vegetables in it so that they are coated with the banana, but that won't help if he doesn't like banana. Oats or brown rice might work as well.

Also try getting a small gram scale to check on weights
It takes a great man to give advice tactfully
But a greater to accept it graciously

Thanks for the advice everyone. Sorry it's a late reply, I haven't been on here in ages. Have been giving Ollie some cooked barley and it worked a treat. Actually had to pare it back a bit she was starting to look more like a pigeon got a bit there. Anyway she's back to a healthy weight. Thanks again :)

It is so much fun to watch them eat grapes. Rambo peals his before he eats it. Myrtle sticks it in the top of her beak and scrapes the inside out with the bottom. Both ways I get grape peels on the floor.

Barley is good but you can't give the bird only barley and leave it at that, you need to make a mix of different whole grains (oat groats, wheat kernels, black/red/brown rice, etc)
