I don't have any birds of this species, although I do know that there are a few lorikeets that are members here along with their humans. I also can't say that I know very much about them.
There are twenty subspecies of lorikeets including the nominate although only one is common in captivity. They ar very beautiful and colorful birds but due to their highly specialized diet they can be very messy birds to keep. I would recommend keeping a small container of water and a rag on hand at all times for cleanup. Their diet consists of about 40% nectar along with a variety of fruits and vegetables and a small amount of canary seed. It is my understanding that the are lively birds and that they love bathtime.
Well that is about all that I know about these birds, I hope that you will find this amusing if not especially helpful to you.
