I really can't think of anything that would come in cans except for the beans and vegetables, but I see no reason that you can't use the canned versions. So I think that you could.

Oops, I shouldn't have said "all". As you mentioned, just the beans and veggies. Thanks :)

People have an old-fashioned idea about canned food. Recent studies actually show no significant difference in the level of nutrition between frozen and canned so go for it!

I went to buy the lentils today and saw they have some tan colored and red colored. Does it matter which ones I use?

I don't use the red because they are so tiny that practically disappear into the gloop but they are as good as the brown ones.

When given gloop and cut fruit at the same time, she prefers the gloop.

I suppose this means I mad it right.

She is just one, small bird, so I froze the gloop in ice cube trays and I just heat up a couple at a time.

This is great and I also freeze a portion of my batches. You are doing great, Navre.

I just read online on the list of foods not good for parrots that kale is one of the foods that can give birds an upset stomach.

The "list" tends to vary a lot. Everything in moderation... some birds have allergies to foods just like we do, some foods are ok if cooked, some not. Some even list apples (because of the seeds). I've noticed a lot of lists out there that include a food saying that it is dangerous in general instead of adding in the stipulations regarding the preparation/feeding of it.

As for the kale, Scooty hates it lol. He will dig out every grain of rice and each tiny lentil before he even puts his beak on it and then when he does he either wipes it on his perch or slings it across the room lol. Even in the mash he managed to work around it. He can be a brat lol...just like me growing up I suppose :)
