A couple of Gloop questions:
I have read that Greencheeks have a mainly fruit diet. Would you modify the gloop if you were preparing it for just a greencheek?
Is there a lot of protein with those beans and lentils? I could have sworn I was cautioned about giving beans to birds, but it may have been uncooked beans.
My GCC is being very noisy lately, presenting a lot (only to me), and spends a large part of the morning screaming at the juncos and sparrows outside. She is on a solar schedule, she gets fruit, peas, some random greens every morning. She eats Harrison's pellets, too. And by "eat" I mean drop them into her water bowl and then see if she can fish it out before it totally dissolves.
I don't know if she is just going through puberty (Hatch date January 20, 2014), or if there is a diet or environmental problem.
If she wants to get excited and scream at the birds outside, I will just let her. I just want to make sure it's the only issue.
I am also open to the idea of a companion bird for her, but I don't know how to be sure that they would get along. I figure that eventually someone will want to rehome an appropriately sized bird and we could try it out then.
