Indian Ringneck strage sounds with his tongue [Video]

Postby lmacsen » Sat Apr 11, 2015 8:49 am

Hello everyone,

Every time after hand feeding, my 8 weeks old Indian Ringneck make some strange sounds with his tongue.

Does anyone know what this means?

I uploaded the video on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF-q7mtktdY

Thank you!

I was able to see and hear it.

Myrtle makes those sounds and moves her tongue like that in the evening while sitting on my shoulder and snuggled against my neck. I am no longer running around and just sit in front of the TV. I took it as a sign of contentment.

Oh, thank you liz. It seems that I was scared for nothing. I was afraid that sign mean it is dehydrated.

I don't know that this is true but our situation at the time is winding down after a busy day and before bedtime. The few times that Myrtle went to bed first, Rambo did the same thing while sitting on my shoulder.

The sound is not made with his tongue, it's made by grinding its beak and yes, it means contentment.

So his belly is filled with warm food. You have comforted him with a hand feeding. Now he is content and ready for a nap.

Good job.

Thank you for all responses.

After grinding its beak become hot. This may be a method to warm his break?
