Foods that hydrate

This is meant for humans but it's actually the way that parrots 'drink' most of their water, namely, by eating foods that are super high in water content.

When I take Corsair on short trips (mostly to the AV), I put some of these in her travel cage instead of water. It's easier for her to consume on the road, and easier for me to deal with than spilled water.

Yes, I do the same thing when I need to transport a bird.

Same is true for cats, cats are meant to gain 80% or more of their water through their food.

100% correct! This is because their ancestor is a wild cat from an arid climate and they are obligate carnivores (fresh meat been about 75% water). And this is the reason why feeding cats dry kibble is bad for their kidneys and why I feel that feeding pellets (max 10% moisture) is bad for parrots which evolved to eat a diet of plant material (85% moisture).
