Line down the chest?

So i was looking through my photos of Julian and came across the first one, the day we got him in his carry cage, and i noticed a line down his chest that i had forgotten about:

The second one was taken last week, about a month of having him in our home: Its still visible a little, but mostly covered over.

I can't seem to find any information on if it is normal, or if he was over/under weight. Can you guys please give me a bit of information about this?

I don't know anything about line down front of body but the Eclectus depending on the species weighs between 450 and 600 grams.

It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks as if the down was showing. Parrots grow their feathers in tracts (pterylae) and the edge of the keel bone is one of the places which doesn't have a tract (apteria) so, sometimes, when the feathers don't have the integrity they should (and we already determined that yours has stress bars and some bronzing going on there) or are greasy/dirty and stick together, these parts show through the plumage so it's possible that is the reason for this grey 'line'.

The first time Rambo came out of a cat carrier at the vet's office the vet said "fat bird". He said a bird should have a breast but it should not be so fat that the breast bone looks indented.

Thanks for the reply guys glad to have an idea with whats happening with him. The vet wasn't concerned or noticed it, so i guess what ever I'm doing is helping him

You can see the line in fat bird Rambo's picture. It is less now that his diet has been adjusted. I think he is fat because he doesn't fly for exercise.

Yeah, I'm thinking the fact he was a little tubby and his wings weren't/aren't in the best nick is a contribute. He flyes a good amount i think, and he has access to fruit and veg all day, so hopefully in another five or so weeks it will be completely gone
