i am mobile but look up zupreem naturals its a betrer formula than the one i linked you. he probably eats more veg than pellets when i am home anyway i always have fruits and veggies out and i am hand feeding him constantly. spoiled bird.

Once I saw that it was zupreem that you were feeding, I went directly to their product page and did look up the formulation for their natural version of pellets and the 5th item listed it sugar with soy being about the third item so both of these items are main ingredients as the ingredients are listed with the most first and run from the largest amount to the least amount in that order. There are many birds that are allergic to soy and soy products and birds don't process complex sugars well so it becomes a leading cause of diabetes in them. These two items as well as artificial vitamins and minerals which birds are also sensitive too are my major issues with this brand of bird food. It is why I keep encouraging you to keep looking as there are several more bird friendly foods available to choose from.

i will be honest i did not notice the sugar content and i share your concern. i found a place nearby that sells roudybush so i will possibly purchase that and mix it at least. he is being weaned from a seed diet and loves the zupreem. figure it's better than seeds. food is the most important part of a pet's care so i definitely want to take as much care with orion as i have with my dog's food.
