I don't think that you could have found anything more difficult to come up with a solution to than this. Do you have a label for these wax melts as I need to know what the wax is. There are several types of wax, the problem is to find a solvent that wont injure or kill your bird.

If that is the only label on it look on the back of the label for the ingredients list, that is what I need.

Ok, I did more research into this and you could try to see if palm oil or mineral oil will work to dissolve the wax. just try it in a small area to see if it will work. The only other think that I can think of that might work is Dawn dish detergent and again you only want to try a small area. do this where you can rinse these things off right away if they don't work.

Wolf, you are right with both. Oil loosens wax. Gently massage it in and the wax will let go. Slide it off rather than pull it off. Then you have to get the oil off or he will pluck those feathers. Don't us cold water. It will shock him. You are not suppose to use warm water on them but it this case I would make it a little more than room temp. I would use an aloe spray on his blister before I did anything else. Check for blisters in other places. What part of his body got the most wax? Don't get oil or soap in his eyes or nose.

He is still a bit sore, i think manily his feet was burned
Only his left foot is blistered, iv been spaying his.blister with aleo vera straight from the plant and been gently rubbing the aleo on it, today it seems to have gone down, he isnt that cranky, will let me pat him, where before he would bite and let me know it hurt,
Iv been covering his cage alot, to let him try and get the wax off, so far it look better than saterday, his right wing got burned a little bit, and his lower chest, but i think his feathers stopped the wax burning his skin as much as what it did with his feet, i havent been picking him up because i dont want to hurt him, will let him rest another night get his cage clean and do a proper check on him, he is eating and drinking but i make sure all the time by placing the water bowl and food in his face to see if he will eat it/drink it, witch he has been reaching for, dont want him to walk on his foot to much

I think I'd be seeking out an avian vet on this one.

Yeah, I have been thinking about this since I replied and I don't think it is a good idea for the bird to be cleaning the wax off of itself. I know that you took it to a vet, but was this an avian vet? If not I think you should try one, they should have a way to remove the wax and probably give you some antibiotics to prevent infections from the burns.

I agree. Leaving him to take the wax off on his own is putting some of the scented wax in his system. Don't mess around with a blistered foot. You are all he has and you need to help him.
