Rambo saw my mother being taken from the house but could not accept that she wasn't coming back. Two weeks of telling him she went "bye bye" he finally stopped searching. It has been more than a year and there a still times I hear him call "Gran'ma" and I have to remind him.

Aw I think ollie is still looking for harlie at times, although I can't help but think he misses the opportunity to ransack her cage more.

Anyway ollie seems ok. He hasn't missed a landing since and the squeaky pooping has stopped. The vet wasn't too concerned when we took him in. He told me to bring him straight back if I had any doubts and if he wasn't in to make the receptionist phone him! Everything has been ok since. Sorry it's been ages for the update :(

Rambo walked from room to room looking for her. He called Gran'ma in each room. Even though I told him she went bye bye he continued for a long time. It was heartbreaking. He was in distress without her.
The first visit his past human made to my house, he hid from her. I know it sounds like I am making up this stuff but he did hide. When he heard her voice he thought she had come back to get him. At that time Rambo talked all day long to let us know what he was capable of. When she came in the front door he got quiet. It was odd. He was hiding in a cardboard box in the sunroom. When I found him he gave me a look like "don't tell on me". He premeditates and follows through with his plans. I have watched him as he planned then pulling it off.

No, I believe that he was afraid he was going to be taken away by his previous owner and hid from her. I've had a similar experience with a couple of birds that got 'visits' from their previous owners only they did not hide, they kept on flying to the opposite end of the room. Parrots have long memories.
