Looking at Lori nectar brands. I want something good that I can feed wet. Suggestions? I was looking at Nekton-Lori complete.

I was not aware that you had any lorry's, I thought that you had a perrotlet and a sun conure and I don't think that lorry nectar is a good choice for feeding them.
So what is going on, that you are thinking that you would need this type of food?

Thanks for your answer, I was not trying to be rude, rather I was confused because I did not think that you had lories and now I understand. I don't mind looking and comparing but to tell the truth I am not sure as to what I should be looking for in a lorry food. I guess I have some research to do.

Low iron content, low complete proteins, low simple sugars. Steer clear of pellets and anything that advertises firm stool, aka Lori constipation. Consensus seems to be that dry powdered foods served seperatly with water for the Loris to wet on there own and dry powders that require the addition of water and possiblly other ingredients to form a gel before serving are both good depending on brand. However both have their disadvantages. Dry powders served seperatly with water require the Lori to dip first in the powder then second in the water. This fowls the water quickly and promotes bacterial growth in the water. Making frequent water changes throughout the day necessary. The powder that you mix with water before serving doesn't require this 1 dip 2 dip process instead it requires the human to do the mixing. The drawback to this food is that it is served wet and requires changing within hours of serving especially in warm homes like mine (80°+). I'd prefer the food that you serve wet. Nekton-Lori Nectar seems to be the recommended brand but I thought I should ask here before ordering. I'd also heard that bee pollen is a good treat for training. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated as well. I do realize that Loris are predominantly not solely nectarivores their diets require the addition of fruits and vegetables. Read an article months ago about wild loris consuming ground beef. That's nothing I'll be feeding but it is interesting.

Could you please post a link to the article on lories feeding on ground beef?

As to brands, I don't have or plan on having lories (diet is too specific) so I cannot really recommend one over the other BUT for all that I have read about these birds, feeding the dry powder is not recommended.

I just don't like the idea of feeding dry powder. It's just one step further from there natural diet. Plus as little sense as this statement might make I am better able to replace the food every few hours than the water.

They eat insects in the wild so it's really not all that shocking to see them eat meat. It's certainly easier to consume prepared beef than to go out hunting insects and nature is all about conserving energy.
