Hurt wing?

Postby LJ4RockPebbler » Sun Oct 11, 2015 7:21 am

I accidentally hit my birds cage last night while he slept covered and he absolutely flipped out. He flew and banged into all parts of his cage and then tried flying out after I opened up his cage to calm him down but he couldn't fly. His wings are not clipped and he usually does fly around the house with no problems. He's still not able to fly this morning but is as lively as ever, singing, dancing, preening and eating like he usually does. He lost some feathers while he was frantically banging into his cage last night so I was wondering if that might be the issue with him not being able to fly or could he have really hurt it. Any suggestions on what my next step should be or should I just take him to his vet. Thank you.

I would take him to the vet right away, I would just go and they will see him. A birds wing is very fragile and although he could have just bruised it there is also the possibility that the damaged the tendons or even have broken a bone in it.
