Just an FYI for future consideration when you can't find the organic, broccoli doesn't have to be organic. It's one of the safest 'regular' veggies.

Gaugan loves brocolli and it took me a while to get her to eat it. I had to play fight her with it to get her to take bites, but now she loves it. I always leave it in a big piece becaue she wants to hold it in her talon. Sunny will always eat the way Gaugan does, so is now also a talon eater.

Yes, broccoli is a favorite of all my birds except for the cardinals and the finches, they never, ever touch it!

And the funny thing with the parrots is that, if I put florets and pieces in the gloop, they will, very methodically, pick them up and throw them to the floor before they start eating it BUT if I give them raw broccoli, they would gladly grab a large piece with their feet and eat it! Crazy birds!

Sounds a bit like me as I really prefer broccoli, cauliflower and carrots raw rather than cooked.

I forgot to take gloop out of the freezer last night, so they got it heated up instead of room temp. I don't like to give warm food because the the possible hormonal problems, but they both seem to enjoy it that way.

Yes, parrots love warm gloop - it's comfort food to them, warm and soft, just like mommy used to make!

Can you elaborate on the hormonal problems, Navre? I serve my birds their food at room temperature, but I'm curious as to why warm food would cause hormonal problems.

I was told that warm food is what they get when being fed by a mate, and that it can cause an increase in mating behavior.

I always give them their food at room temperature unless I need to thaw it in the microwave and then it is actually warm. This is not done a lot but I have not had any problems with it. I don't actually know if that statement is true or not but even if it is I don't think that getting warm food once in a while could cause any problem.
