Help, Unkown Possible Illness

Help!

I am a first time bird owner of a Peachface Lovebird. Last year he flew into my Mother's window form outside. After weeks spent trying to find his owner, and subsequently a new home, she decided to keep him when no one responded. He would bite her until she bled whenever she tried to interact with him, and she was not fond of being a bird owner. I decided to take him and attempt to train him.

In the last year Marley has come to enjoy human interaction more and more. He went from drawing blood to contently sitting on my shoulder. However, he is only content to sit on my shoulder. Other than that he would rather fly around the room or to his cage.

Earlier today I found him burrowed under his cage lining, and hiding underneath his wooden hut. This is not usual for him. When I picked him up to make sure he was okay he did not want to part with me and spent hours sitting in my hand. He mostly kept his eyes closed, and every few minutes he would walk around. He doesn't seem to want to fly or drink water. He is eating though, but keeps closing his eyes every few minutes.

Nothing has changed in his stool recently.

Get him to a vet. There is something wrong and little birds fail fast. Being prey animals they hide their illness. If you can see something is wrong it has really gotten wrong. Take him to a vet.

Ditto. If he is no longer drinking and eating, he has been sick for some time now and needs to be diagnosed and medicated asap.
