About what time do you set it out and take it away? and what method do you use to thaw the gloop?

I take the frozen gloop out of the freezer in the afternoon and, before I go to bed, I put the baggie in a stainless steel bowl which I set on top of the radiator in the livingroom. In the morning, it's all thawed and room temperature -sometimes a bit warm but, as I pick it up and bring it to the kitchen when I first come downstairs to let the dogs out, it's room temperature by the time I serve it.

I put it out when the sun has just come out and take it away when the sun is halfway down to the horizon in the afternoon - I replace it with their dinner.
