I cant speak of your parrrots or anyone elses, but I can certainly tell when mine are well adjusted or not. Having a parrot companion can be the most enriching experience for both species. I can cerainly see what you are saying in your argument, but it is not present in my experience with these feathered beings.

I've bought roasted peanuts in a jar. But, I don't see any reason to buy any form of peanut any more. I was grateful to learn about sunflower seeds from this site. The only but in a shell I provide is almonds as a rare treat because usually I crush almonds for trick training. Almonds and pine nuts as a raw and I switch it up with walnuts. If something is questionable I stay away entirely. But, for me, and I haven't had the experience of a sick or death related incident, it's extreme sounding to roast uncommon nuts without the shell. But, I'm at a average parrot fooding stage. So, I'm also taking easier approaches.

I avoid peanuts completely. I do use raw sunflower seeds, I grow them myself, and there is only one time a year that they are available.
