Bird Grass?

Does anyone have any experience with grasses like these? I'm certain my Senegal would love to pick at it (especially if I act like she isn't meant to have it ) :

My budgies used to love wheat grass and there were a couple of tiels that liked it while no other parrot of mine ever touched it but, hey, try it! It's very healthy!

My sennie loves to rip things up, so I think she'd like a go at this. I'll report back.

Funny, I was just about to make a thread asking about it.

From what it seems, I think bird grass might appeal more to ground foraging parrots like cockatiels and grass parakeets (as the name applies ). Any parrot that loves to shred things up could potentially love it though, so I'd say give it a try.

I'm thinking of trying it for my birds, as well.

Hey, it's worth a shot. Anything to keep them entertained. I'll just have to play with it a lot myself first to convince her that it's something important to me--then she'll want to destroy it for sure.

Some people put it through the blender (or the Food Ninja or whatever it's called) and add it to their parrot's soft food - like I said, it's highly nutritious!

Oooh, good idea. Huh. I have a juicer now...I haven't been able to make your gloop recipe yet, Pajarita, since I had to order the Kashi from Amazon, but I bet this--or even some drizzled, juiced organic veggies--might be a nice, subtle addition early on as she adjusts to the mix....

You need a juicer that is says it will do wheat grass, most cant.
