If one has the availability of bird safe woods and specifically branches then if so inclined can easily produce suitable perches foe a wide variety of situations such as just above window sills or even vertically next to and out from the sides of windows, or a longer branch above and behind a sofa or bed headboard, just about any place desired including suspended from the ceiling.

My yard is full of lilac trees and they need to be pruned every year, so I have made bird playgrounds with them, Some perches in their cage. I even have large branches attached going up the outside cages so the outside of there cage is very jungle looking.

I think I'll be identifying all the bushes in our yard once spring hits. Our trees were all cut down when we were younger due to disease.

I was thinking about putting a perch behind the sofa but it's the rabbits rat run and he would just do his best to remove the obstruction! He gets so stressed out if anything is in his way....
Unfortunately we rent so can't screw anything into the walls.
