So my alexandrine parrot got to a container of rat poison while i wasn't looking and chewed on the side of the container. The lid was on and she didn't make a hole but i am worried that any residue on the side of the container might have been ingested. Does anyone know if suck a small amount will do any damage to her?
It really doesn't take much, What is the active ingredient in it? If you don't know that what is it called and who makes it?
The older ones worked by causing the rat or mouse to bleed to death internally. For that reason alone I would get him to the vet right away for the antidote if there is one.
Yes, rush that bird to the vet because even with treatment, it might not make it. They would give him injections of vit K1 but they can't do it unless the bird was actually poisoned so they need to do blood work and observation for the next two days.
