Washing the dishes

Postby Chantilly » Sat Feb 06, 2016 11:20 pm

What do you guys wash the fruit & Vege dishes with? I have just been using water each day (the fruit dosnt go bad, so it is not really dirty), but should I use detergent?

I have extra food and water dishes, so I wash mine in with the other dishes with dish soap.

Yes, I also have two sets of everything so there is always an entire set of bowls clean. And I also use dish detergent to wash them.

I usually just wash and dry by hand, using dish soap. It's not that hard with ceramic or stainless steal, though plastic is a pain to wash, sometimes.

I'm eventually going to get rid of all the plastic bowls I have for my animals, starting with the water bowls.

Though funny you should mention water bowls... I was washing out my dog's water bowl and had Lucy with me. She was on my arm, and kept getting closer. Guess she thought the bubbles were solid, because she tried to stand on them, and fell in. Freaked her out, and I had to get the soap off her feathers.

Thankyou Everyone :D I will get two more stainless steel bowls for water when we get to a pet store next and I think I will Individully wash and dry the bowls. I went stainless for fruit and veg and it is soo much better than plastic!

I put birdie dishes in the dishwasher, rinse them again and let them drip dry. If I need them right away then I use a fresh dish towel to dry them. I also do this with their toys. It takes them a while to dry but I also put rope perches in the dishwasher too. Any thing that I can put in the clothes washer goes in their with a second rinse.
